The Northeastern Federation provides a forum for the dissemination of philatelic information of importance to the New England area. We do this by providing a centralized list of stamp clubs and exhibitions. We also stage Philatelic Show every spring and support a youth program. Club application here. Bylaws listed here.

 

The Rhode Island Philatelic Society will hold its 52nd annual stamp show March 25 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, Warwick Avenue at Sandy Lane, Warwick, RI. Show hours are 10AM–3PM. Admission and parking are free and is handicap accessible.

 

The Upper Valley Stamp Club will hold the semi-annual Crossroads Postcard & Stamp Show on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 9AM to 3PM at the Mid-Vermont Christian School in Quechee, VT (follow show signs to 399 Gilson Avenue, just south of US Route 4). There will be 20+ dealers and exhibits. Free parking and admission.

 
 

The Manchester Philatelic Society will hold MANPEX 2017 on Saturday, April 22, 10AM to 5PM, at East Catholic High School, 115 New State Road, Manchester CT. There will be a bourse, exhibits and an auction. Women and children welcome.

 
 

Philatelic Show is the largest annual show in New England and is part of the World Series of Philately, as defined by the American Philatelic Society. Philatelic Show 2017 will take place on May 5 to 7, 2017 at the Boxborough Regency (formerly Boxborough Holiday Inn) in Boxborough, MA. This year Philatelic Show welcomes conventions from the American Air Mail Society and the Philatelic Society of Greater Southern Africa.

 
 

Philatelic Show is pleased to host the first day ceremony for the Postal Services's new 3 cent Strawberries definitive (part of the new series of fruit definitives). The first day ceremony is scheduled for 11am on Friday, May 5 in the Seminar Room at the Boxborough Regency.

The Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History will host its fifth annual postal history symposium, co-sponsored by the Philatelic Society for Greater Southern Africa. The symposium’s theme is Philately and Postal History of Southern Africa. It will take place on the campus of Regis College (College Hall 202) in Weston, Massachusetts, where the museum is located, on Thursday, May 4, 2017, starting at 9:30AM, a day before the opening of the WSP Philatelic Show in nearby Boxboro.

The symposium presenters include Peter Thy on Postal History of Southern African Pioneers in World War II, Ken Lawrence on The Intersection of African Liberation and Philately in the Life of an Activist, Tim Bartshe on The NZASM (Transvaal railroad), Hugh McMackin on The Philatelic Literature of Southern Africa, Eddie Bridges on Union of South Africa: The Darmstadt Trials of 1929, Gawie Van der Walt and Johan Joubert on South African Border War: including the involvement of the Cubans 1966-1989 and Guy Dillaway on The Development of the Cape Eastern Frontier 1864-1910.

This program is designed to initiate youth to the hobby of stamp collecting, with the objective of increasing their awareness of the many countries of the world, their cultures and history. It is a favorite of home schoolers, as well as in-schoolers. For more information click here.

 

On February 12, 2015 the Board of Directors of the American Philatelic Society awarded the Twelfth International Philatelic Exhibition of the United States, to be held in 2026, to Boston.
