Minutes of the meeting of January 20, 2009

 

President Shufrin opened the meeting at 8:02 with 18 in attendance.

 

The Treasurer reported no change in balance and reminded members that dues are due.

 

Mike Morris continues as a visitor.

 

The Minutes of the meeting of January 6, 2009 were approved.

 

Old Business

     The bus to the Megashow is now scheduled for April 18th, the date of the show having been changed.

     The WALPEX date is now firm at October 24 and 25, 2009.

     A discussion of equipment that the club might purchase yielded the following: UV lamps, watermark detector, microscope, electronic perforation gage, specialized catalogs. Mike Morris agreed to explore suitable microscopes.

     Museum news: bazaar is scheduled for February 28th.

 

New Business

     APS nominations are coming up.

     Museum store has inauguration covers.

     Peter Lenk has an internet site showing “re-entries”

 

The meeting closed at 8:48 and was followed by “show and tells”. A new format was used. Each participant put his material on the table in front of himself and a round robin let each person say a few words about his subject. After that members visited the various exhibits and asked questions. The range of subjects was remarkable as can be seen from this listing:
