Minutes of the meeting of September 4, 2007

 

President Shufrin opened the meeting at 7:59 with 30 in attendance. He introduced 4 visitors and welcomed them to the meeting: Don Vicar, Jim Reynolds, Larry Fillion, and Tom McDonough.

He noted that there will be a WALPEX 2007committee meeting next Tuesday. He also called for an executive meeting just prior to the meeting of September 18, 2007.

 

The treasurer’s report showed a positive balance, much of it being WALPEX escrow.

 

The minutes of the meeting of June 19, 2007 were approved.

 

Old Business

     A second reading was made for applicant Jeanne Lenk and she was welcomed into the club.

     Regarding WALPEX, all tables have been sold and there is a waiting list.

     Jack Miller wants members to prepare exhibits for the show and is willing to help those who would like to exhibit.

     The 100 year anniversary of the Hersey Kiss is the theme for the show and has been approved by the company and the use of their logo has also been approved.

     Mark Butterline discussed the Portland, Oregon show noting 130 dealers and more than 1000 frames of exhibits including two of his exhibits.

 

New Business

     The next meeting will be a show and tell.

     James Henke asked members to consider preparing a bourse book or a least one page for a book.

 

Museum News

     There will be a fall fundraiser.

     Member exhibits will be shown in October.

 

Federation News

     Federation president Jack Miller complimented Mark Butterline for a major overhaul of the Federation’s web site.

 

The meeting closed at 8:28 and was followed by a 132 lot auction presided over by Steve Waxer which included periods of intense bidding and periods of no bidding.
