Minutes of the meeting of June 19, 2007

 

 

President Shufrin opened the meeting at 8:03 with 29 in attendance.

 

The minutes of the meetings of May 15, 2007 and June 5, 2007 were approved.

 

The Treasurer’s report showed a positive balance.

 

The President reported that member George Mortensen has moved to Boxboro and may not be able to attend all meetings.

 

An application for membership has been made by Jeanne Lenk, wife of Peter Lenk.  Jeanne’s interest is religious subjects and she is an ordained minister.

 

Old Business

     WALPEX 2007 is scheduled for October 20 and 21. Contracts have been sent to 29 dealers of which 14 have made deposits. One table remains available. Jack Miller offered to help any members who would like to have exhibits at the show and he encouraged members to make exhibits. The show theme is down to two possibilities: The 100th anniversary of the Hersey Kiss, or anniversary of Cat in the Hat, a Dr Seuss book.

 

New Business

     The President asked for suggestions on subjects for fall meetings and requested members to contact him with ideas.

 

Museum

     The President said that the Museum has series of events scheduled for the summer.

 

The Meeting closed at 8:27 and was followed by a 168 lot auction presided over by Steve Waxer. The auction included 26 lots from the Museum which produced spirited bidding..
